Ikebana
Ohara School of Ikebana
The Ohara School was founded in the late 19th century by Unshin Ohara. Unshin created the groundbreaking Moribana Style which then led to sophisticated new asymmetrical ikebana forms and the use of “empty” space as essential Japanese feature of design composition. Harmony among the materials, the container and the setting is crucial.
The Ohara School of Ikebana ~ Northern California Chapter was established in May 1964 to promote the curriculum and principles of Ohara Ikebana and further teachers' and students' interests in the art form.
