🎏WAKU WAKU Japanese Culture Workshop
Ever wonder how to experience a different culture?
Join in a 3-hour session sponsored by a NCWNP District JACL Legacy Fund Grant to hear a delightful seawothy tall tale about how one's choices determine life's experiences. A centuries-old folktale teaches us about living harmoniously and persevering through tragedy as taught through the four principles of the Japanese 'Way of Tea - Chanoyu.' The remainder of the workshop will be experiencing craft activities that engage the senses and explores the historical significance of Japanese culture. This workshop is specifically designed for any and all youth ages 7-11 and their guardian partner. We will learn how culture shapes young people's minds across the Pacific Ocean in a land faraway - Japan. Presenter Carol Kawase has created and taught a number of these workshops to many young and young-at-heart community members. Let's share Waku Waku (excitement) time together.

Thank you Eden Aoba Taiko for bringing us the rhythm of taiko to our community!
Good luck Masa with your retirement!
Since 1997, Eden Aoba Taiko has served as the rhythmic outlet of our community, sharing the thunderous power of Japanese drumming under the dedicated leadership of founder Masa Fukuizumi.
What began as a modest ensemble evolved into a powerhouse of fifty members at its height, uniting generations of drummers ages 6 to 80+. From local festivals and parades to international stages in Japan, Eden Aoba's journey has been defined by an appreciation for Japanese culture and the rhythm of taiko.
