The Eden Athletic Club, a local basketball organization, will be hosting the first East Bay community screening of Home Court, a feature basketball documentary. The film covers the life on and off the court of Ashley Chea, a rising Cambodian American high school basketball star, her close relationship with Coach Jayme Kiyomura Chan, and the complicated dynamics that exist between Ashley and her first-generation parents. The film touches upon the history of Japanese American basketball leagues, established in the 1930s, and how the relationship between sports and community have paved the way for young Asian basketball stars such as Ashley.

Shaughnessy 2024: Congratulations to our C Gold team who took both the regular season title and an incredible Championship game title this afternoon. Eden needed overtime to complete the title sweep and are now repeat Champs! Eden came back to tie the game in regulation (see attached video) on an improbable play. Then, playing with momentum, heart, and hitting four straight free-throws and key baskets, the team was able to secure the Championship!
Congratulations to our D Girls A team who played two exciting games on Saturday night and ended up taking the Championship home after beating the SF Associates in the finals. In these two teams' previous meetings during the regular season, the games reached overtime and Eden came up short losing by a bucket in both games. In the finals, our Eden team played aggressive defense and made key baskets to take the title home. Congrats to our EBGAL Champs!!!
